What a busy week it's been! We started reading a new class book - How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth. We have decided that it would be incredibly difficult for many reasons but have been trying to work out what we would need and how we do it. If that wasn't enough, we had outdoor learning too. Mr Moore helped us to make our own Stone Age tools. We even learnt how to tie knots and build a shelter. You'd think we wouldn't have any more time in the week to fit anything else in but you'd be wrong. We have been very lucky in Otter Class as we have managed to get a class set of ukulele and we are really excited about learning to play them. I wonder what next week will bring...

Our new book:

Mickey, Minnie and Peppa have visited us twice recently. They are so proud of our attendance.

Another brilliant week and so much learning has taken place. We searched caves looking for cave paintings, designed our own cave paintings, etched our designs into polystyrene blocks ready for printing and created freeze frames to help us tell our own portal stories.

Our visit to the caves.

We've had an action-packed week this week! We enjoyed a story in Hagrid's Hut as a brilliant beginning for our new topic about the Stone Age. We also enjoyed singing, dancing and toasting marshmallows at the Year 3 campfire. There were lots of great songs - I'm not sure that I could pick a favourite. We also had a great time on our archaeological dig, looking for Stone Age artefacts. I wonder what next week will have in store!

This week, we have been finding out all about otters and have produced some otterly amazing writing! We have also been exploring using different materials to paint with, mixing colours and investigating how to change the texture of paint ready for our artwork next week. This week also saw the return of Hot Chocolate Friday.

For the first few weeks, we will be learning about our class animal and using this to inspire our writing and art.
