Star of the week
This week, we have been celebrating the Queen's Jubilee. 70 years on the throne! It has been a lovely week filled with acting, singing the national anthem (we hope you enjoyed joining us on the field), creating portraits of the Queen, making sandwiches for our picnic, making crowns and playing games on the field.
Bradwell - What an amazing residential visit Year 6 had! Year 6 challenged themselves to try new activities and supported each other in achieving their goals.
We spent the morning at the park on Friday to celebrate the end of SATs week. Tiger Class you have been absolutely amazing this week. You have shown courage, perseverance and should all be incredibly proud of yourselves.
This week, we have been revising for our SATS. We took part in a maths hunt, completing questions with a partner before checking with an adult to explain our methods and moving onto the next hidden question. We also worked with a partner to complete a range of carousel activities including being a teacher and marking a paper!
We spent an afternoon at the park to celebrate our hard work and our fantastic effort during our practise assessment week.
Red for Red Nose Day
Today, we were able to wear red in support of Red Nose Day and Comic Relief.
World Book Day!
We love reading in Tiger Class! Here is our door based on the books by J.K Rowling - Harry Potter!
Did you know that Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published in 1997? Over 120million copies of this book have been sold and it has been translated into at least 73 other languages!
Southend becomes a city!
We celebrated the day Southend became a city by wearing blue and enjoying a doughnut treat. We learnt about what makes a city, took part in a quiz to guess some of the cities in the UK from buildings and sites that can be found there and we also learnt about different cities around the world.
The Circulatory System.
In science, we have been learning about the circulatory system. We explored the elements that make up the blood, the vessels in which they travel and the heart which pumps the blood around the body. We dissected hearts to see the parts we had learnt about in real life!
Sealife Adventure Visit
The children had a fantastic day at Sealife Adventure. They became photographers during the day, taking photos of all the creatures they saw.
Anti Bullying and Kindness week 15 - 19 November 2021
This years Anti-Bullying theme was One Kind Word. This linked with our rule at Eastwood where we are kind to ourselves and others. On Friday 19th November, we had an Eastwood Day with the theme of Kindness. Once again, the whole school joined on the playground where we sang 'You Can Count On Me'. It was AMAZING! We also wore odd socks to celebrate the fact that we are all unique.
