Sport at Eastwood

Spring term was full of sporting festivals and competitions. It is always such a pleasure to be able to take our children to sporting events and as always, every child represents Eastwood Primary School showing fantastic perseverance, attitude and sportspersonship. At competitions and festivals our priority is genuinely to enjoy ourselves and sometimes we win, sometimes we draw and sometimes we lose but our children certainly have the best time.

Panathlon Bowling - 6 of our amazing children attended the Panathlon Bowling competition this month. This was the first time Eastwood Primary School had entered the competition and our fab six did our school very proud with some fine Bowling skills on a brilliant fun day

Girls Football Year 5 and 6 - Well done to our year 5/6 girls who finished 4th in the Girls Emerging Football tournament, on Friday 29th September, qualifying for the main tournament. Well done girls!!!

SPRING 2 COMPETITIONS -This half term there were lots of different competitions for our amazing young sports people to participate in. Those chosen were absolutely amazing and we are so proud of you all for representing Eastwood Primary School and Nursery at the Year 6 Netball, Gymnastics Festivals for KS1 and Year 4, KS2 Panathlon Multi Skills and the year 6 Dragonball. So many different skills, but as always, our athletes did amazing. Well done everyone

FOOTBALL COMPETITIONS - This half term we have had lots of our children represent Eastwood Primary School at the local school football tournaments. Year 3/4 Boys were first up in mid January, followed by the Year 3/4 Girls a week later. And then finally it was the turn of the Year 1/2 Boys. All of our teams did amazing with all winning games. We are so proud of all of you. WELL DONE

SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS - YEAR 5/6 - WHAT AN AMAZING FIRST EXPERIENCE FOR OUR SCHOOL AND OUR CHILDREN AT THE SPORTSHALL ATHLETICS COMPETITION. OUR CHILDREN WERE SIMPLY AMAZING AT EVERYTHING IN WHAT IS ONLY DESCRIBED AS A DAY FULL OF FUN, COMPETITIVENESS AND A LITTLE BIT OF MADNESS WITH SO MUCH GOING ON... WELL DONE EVERYONE

New Age Kurling - Our fantastic four attended the New Age Kurling competition this month. This was the first time Eastwood Primary School had entered the competition and our fab four did our school very proud with some fine Kurling Skills on a brilliant fun day

Year 5/6 Dodgeball 23/11/22 - This time it was the turn of year 5/6 at the Dodgeball Competition. Fantastic effort, skill and lots of fun by all children. Well done!

Year 5/6 Boys Football Tournament - A huge WELL DONE to our year 5/6 boys at the Boys Emerging Football tournament on 11/11/2022, and by qualifying in 3rd place, again then on 18/11/2022 at the main football tournament. Some true Eastwood spirit, was on show along with fantastic sportspersonship too. Well done boys.

YEAR 3/4 Dodgeball Tournament 16/11/2022 - Fantastic effort by our year 3/4 Dodgeball players. The schools first ever Dodgeball tournament and the children did themselves and Eastwood Primary School proud.

Year 5/6 Girls Football Emerging Tournament - Well done to our year 5 & 6 girls football team for representing Eastwood Primary School at the Girls Emerging Football tournament on Friday 7th October. The girls playing together for the first time ever, all contributed to a brilliant day. You did yourselves proud

Cross Country KS1/KS2 - Was wonderful watching our competitors show great effort and resilience in their running. Well done to everyone who represented Eastwood Primary School and Nursery on Wednesday 4th October.

KS2 SOUTHEND BOROUGH SPORTS 2022 - WHAT AN AMAZING DAY IT WAS YESTERDAY 14/6/22 FOR OUR KS2 SOUTHEND BOROUGH SPORTS COMPETITORS. OUR ATHLETES DID AMAZING AND TRIED SO HARD ON A VERY HOT DAY. THEY EVEN MANAGED AN INCREDIBLE 2ND PLACE OVERALL FINISH IN THE FIELD EVENTS ALONG WITH SOME OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL RESULTS ON BOTH TRACK AND FIELD.. WE ARE SO PROUD OF EVERYONE. WELL DONE TEAM EASTWOOD!!

Huge congratulations to Ruby in Year 4 who ran at the ESSEX CROSS COUNTRY FINALS on Wednesday. Out of over 120 runners Ruby came a remarkable 18th place. This a major achievement and we are all super proud her.

Our Year 3 and 4 Boys received their certificates for taking part in the Main Year 3/4 Football tournament following their success in the Emerging Tournament, Once again they did themselves and our school extremely proud with their effort, determination and resilience
