Stars of the Week
Anti-bullying week 19.1.26
This week has been anti-bullying week at school and we have focussed on a different area each day (kindness, unique, cyber-bullying, anti-bullying and respect). The highlight was Thursday's Rock Kidz event and the children learnt a song about making sure nobody is left out.
We have continued our Drama work on Macbeth...this built to a dramatic scene on Friday afternoon where Banquo's ghost appeared to Macbeth!
In Maths, we have started our area and perimeter topic.
Anti-bullying week
w.b.12.1.26
A fun-packed week comprising of Macbeth, scooter party and fractions, decimals and percentages!
We have absolutely loved continuing our drama with Mrs Perman. We made predictions based on what we know about the characters and then acted our ideas out. Today, we discovered which character did not come down for breakfast and why!
Our scooter party was amazing fun! The treats and sweets were a lovely surprise! Thank you!
Thank you so much for the kind donation of sweets, treats and cakes! What a wonderful surprise!
w.b 5.1.26
Welcome back! We have had a great start to the new term! In our English lessons, we have been using drama to learn about Shakespeare's Macbeth! Mrs Perman has been leading the sessions. We have focussed on the way that Shakespeare wants us to feel. We have been experimenting with different techniques, for example soundscapes and hot seating.
w.b 8.12.25
We have had a great week with learning all about shadows in Science. We carried out an investigation to see how shadows change when objects move away from a light source. In Maths, we have been converting units of measurement and in our writing we have been continuing our persuasive arguments. We had so much fun during our Santa dash too!
We have had a busy week with visits to Father Christmas and Christmas dinner! In our Maths lessons, we have been learning how to multiply and divide decimals. In writing, we have written a diary from the Pig's point of view and considered the evidence to decide if the Three Little Pigs were guilty of killing the wolf. In PE, we continued developing our tag rugby skills.
Aragon class visit Father Christmas!
DT- making our pulley-powered cars. We finished the frames and completed the circuit with a switch, motor and batteries to make our cars work.
In our English, we will be investigating the story of the 'Three Little Pigs.' We will be exploring the story and deciding who is guilty. Our work is based on a video this unit. We have written a diary entry from the Wolf, detailing how he feared for his life!
In Maths we have been learning how to add, subtract, divide and multiply fractions. We are now moving on to think about decimals and the place value of each digit.
Trip to the park!
PGL part 1
In Science, we have been learning about classifying invertebrates!
Hunting for mushrooms on a wet outdoor learning day!
Outdoor learning!
Friday 17th October
In DT today, we cut the wood to make the bases for our pulley-powered cars. We needed to be accurate with our measurements and safe with the hacksaws. We worked well as a team and are ready to glue our bases together next.
