PE is on Mondays (this is an additional session), Tuesdays and Thursdays.

 

Homework is given out on a Friday and due the following Wednesday. 

 

*Christmas dinner order day - Please order your child's Christmas dinner via the school gateway app by Friday 14th November. The money (£2.50) must be in your child's usual school dinner account by Wednesday 3rd December. If you qualify for free school meals you do not have to pay for lunch, however you must prebook a dinner by Friday 14th November. *

 

Key dates:

  • Tuesday 4th November - Flu immunisations 
  • Monday 10th November - Christmas raffle tickets. are available for the children to purchase in class. 
  • Tuesday 11th November - NSPCC workshop
  • Wednesday 12th November - Outdoor learning
  • Friday 21st November- Year 6 trip to Eastwood Park - the children will need to wear trainers and bring a spare pair of shoes to change into as it may be muddy.  
  • Tuesday 2nd December - Reception, Year 1 and 2 Christmas Dinner day - whole school can wear Christmas jumpers, outfits, hats or non-uniform. 
  • Tuesday 2nd December - Santa Visit. 
  • Wednesday 3rd December - Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 Christmas Dinner day -  whole school can wear Christmas jumpers, outfits, hats or non-uniform.
  • Friday 5th December - Raffle draw. This will take place in school and winners will be contacted. 
  • Tuesday 9th December - Santa Dash. 
  • Wednesday 10th December - Santa Visit. 
  • Wednesday 10th December - Christmas Fayre - 3:15pm - 4:30pm
  • Friday 19th December - Last day of term.

 

 

Reminders-

PE Kit- On our PE days, please ensure children come to school in suitable clothing, including footwear. Hair needs to be tied back and all jewellery should be removed. 

Outdoor Learning Clothes- Children should wear long trousers, bring a change of shoes and a coat. 

Water bottle - a water bottle everyday in class which we can refill. 

Star of the week

In our English, we will be investigating the story of the 'Three Little Pigs.' We will be exploring the story and deciding who is guilty. Our work is based on a video this unit.

NSPCC - A team from NSPCC gave us an assembly on how to keep ourselves and others safe which is one of our rules at Eastwood Primary. 

Science 

In our science lessons, we have been learning about the classification of animals. 

Computing - Coding and learning about secret codes.

Space Week

To celebrate Space week, we learnt about Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins and their Apollo 11 mission to walk on the moon. 

 

"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!"

 

We also explored the forces of gravity and air resistance by making egg parachute capsules. 

 

 

DT

In DT, we are going to be making pulley powered cards. In our first lesson, we explored and made different pulley systems. In our second lesson, we cut pieces of wood to make the chassis. In our third lesson, we learnt about electrical circuits. we made an electrical circuit using a motor which will power our pulley system.
