PE is on Mondays (this is an additional session), Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The guidance for a verucca is that it should be covered up with a waterproof plaster or tape. (Guidance from Keeping safe in PE (afPE)).

Homework is given out on a Friday and due the following Wednesday.

Friday 6th February - St Laurence Church visit - We will be visiting the church to learn about its history.

Friday 13th February - Disney Outdoor Learning.
Friday 27th February - Year 6 sponsored 5K run more information to follow.
Thursday 12th March - Year 6 visit to the Tower of London - more information to follow.

Reminders-

PE Kit- On our PE days, please ensure children come to school in suitable clothing, including footwear. Hair needs to be tied back and all jewellery should be removed.

Outdoor Learning Clothes- Children should wear long trousers, bring a change of shoes and a coat.

Water bottle - a water bottle everyday in class which we can refill.

Star of the week

In our English, this half term, we will be exploring the world of Shakespeare through the play Macbeth.

Antibullying Week

During Anti-bullying week we have made posters to show kindness to ourselves and others, we have learnt about cyberbullying, we celebrate everyone being unique and painted stones to leave around school for others to find and make them smile.

Thank you to the Families of Year 6 for donating an amazing array of snacks for our scooter party! The children thoroughly enjoyed them in a our morning of scooter and games fun.

Art - This half term we are learning about shading and using graded art pencils to create our pieces inspired by Vincent Van Gogh

Jazz music assembly - this week we had a special assembly where we listened to and learnt about jazz music.

English - we are analysing evidence packs to find out who is guilting the in the case of the Three Little Pigs.

Science

In science this half term, we have been learning about light. We have learnt that it travels in straight lines and made periscopes.

NSPCC - A team from NSPCC gave us an assembly on how to keep ourselves and others safe which is one of our rules at Eastwood Primary.

Science

In our science lessons, we have been learning about the classification of animals.

Space Week

To celebrate Space week, we learnt about Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins and their Apollo 11 mission to walk on the moon.

"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!"

We also explored the forces of gravity and air resistance by making egg parachute capsules.

In DT, we are going to be making pulley powered cards. In our first lesson, we explored and made different pulley systems. In our second lesson, we cut pieces of wood to make the chassis. In our third lesson, we learnt about electrical circuits. we made an electrical circuit using a motor which will power our pulley system.
