Houses of Parliament
We were incredibly lucky to get tickets for tour and workshop inside the Houses of Parliament. We travelled by train to London Liverpool Street station we then took the tube on the circle line to Westminster. Inside the Houses of Parliament, we visited Westminster Hall, sat and watched the foreign secretary (David Lammy) speak in the House of Commons and then listened to a speech in the House of Lords. Following our tour, we took part in a workshop and was even visited by our local MP (David Burton-Sampson). We asked him lots of questions and he told us his favourite parts about Southend. Upon leaving the Houses of Parliament, before heading back to the train station on the tube, we had a walk to Downing Street and saw the guards on their horses. It was an amazing day and Year 6 you were incredible ambassadors for Eastwood Primary School.
