Welcome

We are delighted you have chosen to send your child to Eastwood Primary School and Nursery, thank you! We are excited to meet you and your child. Below are some important dates for your diary.  

Key Dates

• Picnic on the Field - Wednesday 5th June at 13:30 – 14:30 

Come and meet the Reception team and have fun with some of your new friends. We will provide tea, coffee, juice and biscuits as well as a gift for your child! 

• Starting Reception Talks - Tuesday 11th June at 09:15 or Wednesday 12th June at 14:15  

You only need to attend one of these sessions.  

• Stay and Play - Tuesday 25th June and Wednesday 26th June at 15:30 – 16:00 

There is no expectation to attend both sessions, but it is a great opportunity to get familiar with the Reception environment. 

• Whole School Open Evening - Monday 8th July at 17:00 – 19:00  

The school is open for all new and existing families. Take the opportunity to explore the school and come and say hello to the Reception team.  

• Stay and Play - Monday 15th July 09:30 – 10:30  

This session is slightly longer as it is time to spend in your class with your new teacher. One adult is invited to stay with their child in class.  

September Start

• Family Consultation Meetings - Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Monday 9th September  

This is a 15-minute meeting for us to learn more about your child. You will be given the opportunity to sign up for a suitable time at one of the stay and plays.  

• Stay and Play - Tuesday 10th September AM (09:00 – 11:00) or PM (13:00 – 15:00) 

One adult is invited to attend the AM or PM session with their child. You will be given the opportunity to sign up for AM or PM sessions at one of the stay and plays. 

• AM or PM sessions for all children - Wednesday 11th – Wednesday 18th September 

• Stay for lunch - Thursday 19th September 09:00 – 13:00 

All children will attend the morning session and have the opportunity to experience a free school lunch or bring in a packed lunch to enjoy.  

• Start Reception full time - Friday 20th September 08:35/08:50 – 15:00

At Eastwood we have decided to stagger the children starting school for the first two weeks. This is to enable quality time with your child and to establish key routines.
