Resilience (Year 3)
Welcome to Resilience Class with Miss Taylor!
Spellings will be given out every Monday and are checked the following Monday.
Our Maths homework each week is to practise our KIRFs and compete in our Times Tables Rock Stars tournaments! Please see below for more information on our KIRFs for this half term.
Our PE days are on Wednesday and Friday every week.
Wednesday 14th February - Church visit
Friday 16th February - non pupil day (Half term)
Thursday 29th February - Year 3 Assembly to parents
Thursday 28th March - British Museum trip
At the end of the day, most of Year 3 leave via the playground.
We will only dismiss children from the gate by Reception after we have dismissed all those leaving from the playground first.
Thank you for your continued support and patience.
This week has been fabulous! We have enjoyed measuring in metres, centimetres and millimetres in Maths, publishing our Howard Carter diaries in English and learning about Egyptian hieroglyphs in History. We have been practising our forward rolls in gymnastics and trying to protect the secret agent in dodgeball.
Outdoor Learning 29th January 2024
We had a great day during Outdoor Learning today. We built cranes, we carved and mummified apples and we played team games. We tried really hard to work well as a team today. We had an amazing time!
Coral - My favourite part was carving the apples and being a leader during a game.
Oakley - My favourite part was making the cranes.
Ava - My favourite part was working as a team.
Alfie - My favourite part was carving the apples, it was so much fun!
Stars of the Week 26.01.24
Another incredible week in Resilience class. We discovered Tutankhamun's tomb in English and are expert archaeologists, just like Howard Carter! We produced some absolutely fantastic writing - Miss Taylor has been so proud. We also had a fantastic day rocking out with Rock Kidz, we loved dancing and singing along. Ask us about YASBA! We also made gardens in PSHE for people with disabilities to enjoy.
We won the TTRS tournament again - well done!

Keep practising your times tables, it is crucial in our maths lessons!

Another incredible week in Resilience class!
We have finished our non-fiction text: The Story of Tutankhamun! Ask us what we know about Tutankhamun and the discovery of his tomb by the archaeologist Howard Carter. You might have noticed our vocabulary improving too - we have been loving the words lavish, colossal, stubborn, determined and intelligent!
We have been continuing to multiply and divide in Maths. Our times tables knowledge has been crucial for our maths lessons so keep practising these at home. Remember your KIRFs this half term are the 4 times table.
We have also started our history topic - The Ancient Egyptians. We looked at a COLOSSAL timeline and were astounded by when the Ancient Egyptians were around.
Unfortunately, this week Inclusion beat us in the TTRS tournament - I'm sure we can do better next week.

Week 1 and 2
What a fantastic start to the Spring term. We have had a great week and a bit back at school.
We have started learning about Tutankhamun in English. We have been retrieving interesting facts from our book such as:
- Tutankhamun died unexpectedly at the age of 18 or 19! (Isla and Riley)
- Tutankhamun became Pharaoh at 9 years old! (Aaliyah)
- He married his half-sister! (Charlie)
We learnt all about prayer in different religions in our RE lessons. We have continued multiplication and division in Maths and have started to multiply 2 digit by 1 digit numbers. We are also very proud of our effort in PE. Finally, we started our new Science topic - Forces and Magnets. See photos of our experiment below!
Well done for winning the TTRS tournament! It was a very close competition this week!
